Our Vision and Approach

Greenbrook delivers high quality primary care services in an efficient, practical and forward thinking manner. Our ambition is to build on our existing expertise and expand both geographically within the South East of England as well as into other primary and community healthcare services. 

Underpinning this ambition is a commitment to ensuring excellent care which is delivered patient after patient. By delivering care in this way we believe more people will want to use our services, and more NHS commissioners will want Greenbrook to run their NHS primary care services. The fundamental building blocks of this commitment to quality are our clinical governance approach and our dedicated support of medical teaching and training.

Clinical Governance

Greenbrook Healthcare makes appropriate clinical care central to all operational and strategic decisions. Quality of care is constantly measured and understood, with areas for improvement and learning shared amongst teams within and across services. A systematic approach to significant events, coupled with a no-blame culture allows us to learn and develop continuously as a team and as a set of services. Regular meetings of clinical governance groups oversee all of our services at both an organisation-wide and local service level. These multidisciplinary teams carefully review the performance our services, optimise management information and pro-actively support and supervise clinicians (and non-clinicians where appropriate) to ensure patient safety and high quality care.

The clinical directorate oversees all clinical elements of Greenbrook management, including bringing clinical expertise to the board. Its functions include generating and reviewing clinical processes and protocols, defining and managing the clinical reporting system and delivering clinical governance operationally. The clinical directorate is integral to strategy development, service development, training and education.

Medical teaching and training

Training of our clinical staff is key both to our realisation of a high quality workforce delivering high quality services, and underpins our strategy for clinical governance. Greenbrook has comprehensive training and development programmes and initiatives to support the development of doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants as well as management and administrative staff. These programmes are all driven by individual staff personal development plans and annual appraisals.
Examples of our teaching and training initiatives include:
  • All our doctors have protected study time (CPD)
  • Financial and practical support for training of GPs with a special interest
  • In house series of talks and seminars on a range of health topics from experts in their fields.
  • Training of nurses to become independent practitioners (ENPs/NPs) with funding for courses and study time
  • Foundation Year Doctor training within general practice
  • Supporting GP VTS training within our Urgent Care Centres
  • Training placements for Ambulance Services and trainee nurses in our centres.
